Awards

Since 1987, the APPEA Safety Awards have recognised excellence in safety performance and innovation, aiming to facilitate knowledge exchange across the Australian oil and gas industry. In 2009, APPEA conducted a review of the Safety Innovation Awards system, aiming to increase the profile of the awards and their accessibility across all levels of the industry. A new and improved model was launched in 2010, and APPEA is now commencing the new Award process for 2011.

The 2011 Safety Innovation Awards enable recognition of ingenuity and creativity in the workplace. All innovations, no matter how big or small, will be showcased.

Submissions may be about high level management or system improvements that affect the whole of an organisation OR they may be about very practical 'front-line' innovations, which are usually engineering or people focused. APPEA is inviting individuals, teams and companies from across the whole of industry to share new initiatives or original solutions to specific safety and health problems.

These innovations serve to provide inspiration and will demonstrate how the industry is continuously raising the bar in safety performance. Companies are not limited in the number of submissions they can enter. The system for submitting your entry has been designed to ensure it is not too onerous for companies to get involved.
