This is the only safety forum in Australia specifically programmed with oil and gas health and safety representatives (HSRs) in mind.

All HSRs are invited to attend, to share their experiences, learn from others and discuss good practice and innovative solutions.

Companies are encouraged to facilitate the attendance of HSRs working offshore by coordinating rosters and schedules well in advance of the 2011 HSR Forum.

The Health and safety Representative (HSR) of the Year Awards recognise individuals within the Australian oil and gas industry who have been outstanding in their contribution to the health and safety of their fellow workers. The HSR of the Year Awards were established in 2006 and two awards are presented annually at the HSR Forum.

Can you think of a Health and Safety Representative (HSR) in your organisation who has led through example, mentoring others and representing the workforce effectively?  Do you know a HSR who is delivering a safe working environment through new initiatives, ideas and methods, and whose achievements have influenced your workplace safety culture?  Do you know the 2011 HSR of the Year?

The HSR of the Year Awards recognise individuals within the Australian oil and gas industry who have been outstanding in their contribution to the health and safety of their fellow workers.  The awards, offshore and onshore, are presented annually at the HSR Forum.

Established in 2006, the HSR Forum has grown to become the premier safety event for workforce representatives from the oil and gas industry across Australia.  The 2011 HSR Forum ‘From the Bootroom to the Boardroom’ will provide HSRs an opportunity to come together to share their health and safety experiences and solutions, and to learn new skills to make them more effective in their HSR roles. 

Coordinated by APPEA and chaired by the National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority (NOPSA), the 2011 HSR Forum, held on Monday 8 August at Burswood Convention Centre, Perth, will culminate in the HSR of the Year Awards ceremony.
